Ravioli is one of Snehanshu's (I think by now you know he is my husband :)) favorite pasta. It is always on our sure to be ordered list during Italian dining.
Fried Ravioli was one of my first food network recipes I prepared when we moved to the US in 2007. I used to watch Giada De Laurentiis's show on food network and loved her Italian recipes. This recipe is a very quick and unique appetizer, great to be carried for potluck :) Here is the link to her recipe: Fried Ravioli
I had published this recipe on 8/12/2012. Today I am updating my recipe with new and fresh step-by-step pictures!!
Last weekend we spent time with our family in San Diego. My nephew turned 11, and we wanted to be there for his special day. Ziplinning, mountain climbing and so many fun activities were lined up for the party with super active boys. Of course I had to make fried raviolis, it is my nephew's favorite appetizer. He so enjoyed helping me prep and fry raviolis before the party, and we had a wonderful time in the kitchen!!
Ingredients: Cheese Ravioli, Milk, Bread crumbs, Oil for frying, Grated Parmesan cheese
Dip ravioli in milk and then in Italian bread crumbs crumbs.
Set few bread crumbed raviolis in a plate before frying.
As soon as the oil for frying is heated, gently drop each ravioli in. Ravioli puffs up, cheese inside melts and the outer layer gets crispy.
Drain excess oil on paper towel.
Grate fresh Parmesan cheese on the fried ravioli. Serve with marinara sauce or ketchup.
Happy Birthday to my Big Boy!!
