Chutneywale Aloo ka Raita

Chutneywale aloo ka raita/ चटनिवाले आलू का राइता, a  quick side dish to pair with simple ghar ka khana! In the middle of the week when you are out of fresh veggies or have to deal with some left over food, a quick potato and yogurt with spicy chutney can be refreshing and can boost rest of your week.

With all festivals lined up, this is a quick raita or yogurt dip that is perfect during fasts. Normally raitas are served in a bowl like a dip. This one is served differently with a slice of potato. If using for fasts, avoid chat masala.

Slice boiled potato and arrange them in a serving plate.

In another bowl take some yogurt and add pinch of salt. Whisk it well.

Add a dollop of whisked yogurt on every potato slice.

To make cilantro chtney:
Blend these ingredients to a smooth paste with little water.
Cilantro 1 bunch
green chillies
ginger
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/4 cup peanuts
salt
lemon juice
Add little chutney over some yogurt. (depending upon the spice)

Sprinkle some sev or Bhujia over the potato.
Sprinkle some chat masala and serve.

Make this delicious side dish during fasts/ekadashi too. Avoid sev and chaat masala.

A Feast for Fast!!

Instead of slicing the potatoes, cube boiled potatoes in a bowl. Mix yogurt and chutney. Sprinkle some bhujia and chat masala or just cumin powder.

Garnish with crisp non- fried Potato sev by microwaving for 30-45 seconds.

 Happy Fasting!
