Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi was my favorite drink at the Aarey Booth in Mumbai! Chilled Mango Lassi in hot summer is just out of this world!
Lassi is a thick, chilled yogurt drink which could be sweetened by adding sugar and seasonal fruits. Although I had this recipe photographed before 3 months, I thought of waiting for fresh mango season to set in before I publish it! So yesterday I made a fresh, chilled batch with fresh, sweet, ripe mangoes.

Ingredients:
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup Mango pulp or 2 large ripe Mangoes
3-4 tbsp. milk
1-2 tbsp. sugar (if needed)
  • Peel and chop ripe mangoes or use Kesar or Alphanso Mango Pulp
  • Add sugar to taste, yogurt, and 3-4 tbsp. milk
  • Blend all ingredients using a whisk or a hand blender.
  • Add few ice cubes are serve chilled.

Here are the pictures of mango lassi made with canned mango pulp as well as fresh mangoes.

Really simple! blend a cup of plain yogurt with a cup of mango pulp.
Add sugar if needed. Add ice or chilled milk to thin it down if needed. I like to keep mine nice and thick.

Serve with chocolate straw!

OR
Choose fresh seasonal mangoes.

Peel the skin and cut into pieces.

Add 1/4 cup plain yogurt and a tbsp. of sugar (depending of how sweet or tart mangoes are)
Blend them together.
Add ice or chilled milk to make it pourable.

Serve thick mango yogurt as a dessert.

OR
Use melon baller to make mango balls.

Use a tall glass. Pour mango lassi over ice and top with Mango balls.
I like to use my straw spoon to serve this lassi.
Straw to sip and spoon to eat mango balls :)

Enjoy Chilled Mango Lassi!!
